Dix Hills Adventure Camp
Has anyone sent their child to the Dix Hills Adventure Camp run by the Town of Huntington? Was it a good experience? My son will be entering the first grade in September and I was considering this for him this summer.
Thank you.

Re: Dix Hills Adventure Camp
We were going to do it (also going into 1st), but I asked DS if he wanted the ice skating or the beach and he picked beach - so we'll be at Crab Meadow (not looking forward to rain days ) We've done the town camps and I think they are really nice.
I also signed him up for the lego camp at one of the South Huntington schools (through the town)

Re: Dix Hills Adventure Camp
Thank you Erica. I had been considering the ones at the beaches as well, but they seem to end earlier in the day. Also, all my little guy talks about is playing ice hockey, so I figured learning how to skate would be a good place to start. Plus, I learned to swim at the Dix Hills pool when I was a kid, so I am a bit nostaligic for it. I just don't know if the sports aspect of the program will be "enough" for him. He plays on both soccer and basketball teams and is very competitve.

My DD did the camp at Crab Meadow last summer. She was going into 1st grade.
She really liked it. It is only from 9-2 and they do close for rain. We are doing the Huntington YMCA this year.

Do you have to be a Town of Huntington resident for this?
