LI IVF- I need help picking a doctor

Hi Ladies,
I am new here and have been in the testing process for the past year or so. I started seeing Dr. Kathleen Droesch back in March. I've only met with her a few times but I don't care for her bedside manner. Can anyone recommend another doctor at this facility? I would really like someone who is sensitive to the situation and will hold my hand through the process. I really like the office and staff but I don't care to continue with Dr. Droesch. I would appreciate any feedback.

I use Dr kenigsberg, but he is very "to-the-point" also. I happen to like that and LOVE him.

I know that Dr. Brenner is much more gentle in the way he speaks and from reading on here, he seems to be more the "hand holding" type.

Honestly though, you dont see the drs all that much. You mostly deal with the nursing staff...who are AMAZING and so caring.

I really like Dr. Brenner. He isn't perfectly warm and fuzzy, and a little quirky, but he is a good listener and extremely pleasant. I felt really comfortable with him.

I actually started with Dr. Droesch and after my first failed cycle switched to Dr. Kenigsberg which my friend recommended. IMO, Droesch was way more sensitive and caring. I agree with Jen2999, Kenigsberg is "straight to the point" which works for some women.However, I personally prefer the hand holding.

Thanks for all the help ladies. I made an appointment with Dr. Brenner. I agree I really like the staff and nurses, but as far as procedures go I wanted to make sure I feel comfortable with the Dr. that is performing them. Honestly I did like Dr. Droesch at first, but soon after I found that during procedures her patience ran short and sympathy wasn't her strong point. I understand that these are everyday circumstances for her, but I expect a little compassion and understanding during these situations. I think most would agree that these are extremely trying and emotional tests and we would like them all to go as quickly and as painlessly as possible. Hopefully anyone else who decides to use her as a doctor doesn't have to experience what I went through. I wish you all the best and may God work his miracles in all your lives.

Hi Lisae,

Can you tell me after a whole year if you were happy with Dr. Brenner? If you liked her "hand holding", if she was a sensative doctor or not. If you switched location ect. I am about to change from Dr. Pena from East Coast Fertility because I felt he made it out to be a buisiness transaction and didn't really care about me. I want to start IVF but really really need a good doctor. Can you or anyone please let me know about Long Island IVF?

I did go and meet with Dr. Brenner a year ago, but unfortunately our diagnose needed no follow-up. I did like him as a doctor and if I needed more tests or treatment I would have moved forward with him. I think he was personable and easy to talk to. Looking back at the process now, I was probably too hard on Dr. Droesch. I don't know if I would recommend her, but I definitely felt more comfortable with Dr. Brenner. The entire staff at LI IVF are great and helpful. I wish you the best of luck on your journey! I hope everything works out for you and your husband.

I second a recommendation for dr. Brenner...I noticed you said she but dr. Brenner is a man,,don't know if that mattered to you

I just want to give an update encase there is anyone after me looking for a great IVF facility. In July we did our first round if IVF with LI IVF and Brenner was my doctor. He was amazing the entire time as well as the staff at LI IVF. We are 19wks 5ds and having a baby boy. My first trimester I was considered high risk from week 4, I suffered from Subchorionic Hematoma and now no long summer from it. My son is doing well, they only transferred 2 fertilized eggs and 1 survived. I would recommend Brenner to anyone. He walked us through the entire thing and If I had to do it again I would go back.
