I accidentally hit my eight month old in the forehead

I was moving her bouncy chair and I have no idea how it slipped but as she was on the floor as I was putting out down, it slipped and hit her. I cried immediately, she paused, then cried ~ I think because of my reaction. I run, my dh picks her up. She's bawling, I'm bawling. A red mark pops on her forehead, no indention thankfully. Her eyes are dialating, she's watching daddy now,it happened about 30 minutes ago, she was playing and cooing up until about 5 minutes now she wants to sleep. I feel terrible.

Hang in there mommy! Accidents happen and I am sure your DD is fine. I banged DD#1's head against her changing table by accident when she was a newborn!

Accidents definitely do happen- don't beat yourself up! Our 70 lb. dog accidentally fell on my son's head while I was nursing him in bed when he was like a month or 2 old! And he's fine!

awww. I would feel the same as you. When DD was like a month old, she was in her swing and started fussing a little bit. I decided to finish what i was doing before running in there (it was only a minute or 2). But when I got in there I saw she had spit up all over herself and that's why she was fussing. OMG I cried hysterically! I felt soooo guilty and have never done that again. I'm telling you, the moment she starts fussing I run in to check. It makes me tear up just remembering that and it wasn't even that big a deal. Ugh.

ughh! I feel your pain...I just posted about my DS hitting his head on the changing table...I am still a little shaken up and afraid to go to sleep...I feel like I need to watch him very closely!
