(that were INCREDIBLE difficult to conceive )


Do you go away on a babymoon to Dominican Republic for 8 days?

Doctor said I am perfectly fine...but of course I am due to leave in 4 days and I am worrying about the babies safety. I would NOT want to be stuck on some tropical island with sub par medical care, if GOD forbid something went wrong. Am I being crazy? Would you cancel? I have FULL insurance, so $ is not the issue.

that's funny bc we are in a similar situation. We were invited to a destination wedding in Punta Cana, DR when I would be 22 weeks. We really wanted to to go, but decided not to because I didn't want to be in a position where something went wrong in a foreign country where I might not get great medical care. I am sure everything would be fine, but we just didn't wanna take any chances.

Personally, I wouldn't. My parents have a house out in Montauk and i was out there at 14 weeks and had to be rushed to the ER in Manhasset bc i was having terrible pains in my sides. I never went back to Montauk after that and never went anywhere else bc i didn't want to be without my doctors just incase anything happened.

First I might think about making the trip a little shorter than 8 days, if possible. Can you maybe just go for 5?

If not, I would go and enjoy. If your Dr. has approved it then he must not have any concerns about you travelling. You deserve to relax and take it easy - it might be your last opportunity for a while Once you get back you won't feel the time fly until your baby boys are here.

i was too scared to go anywhere. Granted my pregnancy was not so uneventful with my cervix and all but I after I got my cerclage I was even scared to go to AC. not to mention my docs didnt let me either. However I think that if I had no issues whatsoever and my docs approved it I would go for a few days.

We went to Disney for our babymoon at 20wks because I was too scared to be out of the country.

i would say go - but i am laid back - the relaxation and extra viatmin D will be good for the babies

plus being in the water feels so nice - if your doctors say you are fine then don't worry - most of my doctors are extra caustuois with twins so they would tell you if you should not go

i went on a baby moon when i was 16 weeks and it felt great - i love to ski and i still felt very comfortable skiing all over the mountain

In a few more weeks you will start feeling more uncomfortable - so enjoy the time and relax

I also had a terrible time trying to conceive. THere is no way I would get on a plane. I don't care what any Dr tells me.
Do what you are most comfortable with.

I actually just got back from Punta Cana. I am only 11 weeks but I was so scared the whole time. I only ate bread, pasta and pancakes in fear of getting really sick from food. I kept thinking what if something happens. Nothing did happen and I had a wonderful time but the fear was there.

Well, I went to both my OB and high risk this week and they both said I am fine to go. Dr. Kofinas, who I think is somewhat conservative, was encouraging even. I must have repeated 3 times, if you have the slightest bit of concern, please tell me. But babies, cervix, fluid- are all fine and he wished us well. So we have decided to go. Not to be Debbie downer, but honestly at this point, if something were GOD FORBID to happen, there is nothing anyone, anywhere could do anyway. I will take it easy, but I plan to try to relax and enjoy, it might be a VERY long time before me and DH get away alone.
