Success with SELF MAGAZINE Drop 10 plan
I know a lot of you girls do weight watchers, but I just wanted to offer an alternative for those who don't/can't and still want to lose weight. I started the SELF Magazine Drop 10 plan at the end of April and I have since lost 10 lbs!
A little back story: DH and I have had trouble getting preggo. I was really depressed about this for awhile, so I resorted to emotional eating. I was eating Milanos like they were going out of style! Before I knew it, I had gained 10 lbs and my clothing had went up almost 2 sizes. After reading an artile in SELF about the drop 10 plan, I decided to try it. Basically, you limit your calories to 1600 a day and exercise 3 days a week. They give you meal plan, but I don't always follow it to the letter. I have adapted it to fit my needs/tastes. I will admit that the first week was tough. I was so used to eating crap that dropping down to 1600 calories left me starving. But 6 weeks later, I feel totally satisfied with that amount. I quickly learned that if you eat healthy (fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean protein), 1600 calories is plently. And I do add in a cheat day every once in awhile. For example, DH and I grabbed slices of pizza on Friday. I got a slice and a half of whole wheat and had it with steamed veggies. SO Yummy!
Sorry that this was so long, but I just wanted to offer an alternative to WW/Atkins!

Re: Success with SELF MAGAZINE Drop 10 plan
Congrats! That's really great. I get SELF magazine & I was reading about that plan too. It seems very sensible! Just goes to show that for all the fad diets out there, what does work is limiting calories, eating nutritious foods, & working out. Keep up the good work!
