what type of Dr. for wrist pain???
I'm very clueless when it comes to medicine- my left wrist kills me when I lift sometihing, bend it or basically anything.
What type of dr. should I call for an appointment- I was thinking orthapedic surgeon but I'm not sure.

Do you need a referral?
I know if this was us, we'd have to start with our PCP for a good, full body work-up, and then get the referral from him.
It sounds like you would need to see an orthopedist if they can't find anything significant at the PCP.

Ortho Dr david tuckman 1 (516) 627-8717 He specializes in wrists/arms/shoulders
I developed mommy thumb from Picking up my son. Got 2 cortizone shots and have beed better sunce.
He was recommended by a friend who works with all different orthos (he sells medicl parts and shows the drs how to use them in surgeries) and he said tuckman isthe best (in that specialization).

Orthopedist.
I had something similar (like a 20 oz cup of chai was too painful). I had a wrist brace for weeks, which helped tremendously.

I agree. I was having wrist problems and it turned out to be carpal tunnel. I started out with my regular PCP first. Id probably do that and then theyll refer you where you need to go from there.

Re: what type of Dr. for wrist pain???
Ortho for sure! cuz if you go to your PCP, he will just look at it and wind up sending you to an Ortho so instead of wasting two co-pays, just go right to the source.
