Summer Services??
My DD attends Kramer Learning Center and has been there for 1 yr and 1/2. She is in a UPK class with 5 typical dev. children and 5 children w/ disabilities. She also attends a typical preschool 2x a week. She was approved to continue at Kramer over the summer. She recieves speech 1:1 3x week, OT 1x week and Play skills push in 1x week and pull out 1x week with a typical child. I love the school but I am wondering if it is possible for her to recieve her services at home for the summer instead of sending her there. She loves her other pre-school and has been doing so well there (with zero support)! She is in a large class 20 students and really has grown this past year. The reason for my post is this... Her typical pre-school offers mini worksops for the kids 4x during the summer (each lasting 3 days for a couple of hours) where the kids engage in really fun activites and I know she would just love it. I also feel she needs a break from Kramer to just get out there a bit and grow from further experiences with some of her other peers. I am entitled to get her the services @ home? If she is, how should I go about it? She will be attending Kramer again in Sept. Any help/advice would be much appreciated. It's getting down to the wire and I am so up in the air:( Thanks!!!

Re: Summer Services??
My guess is the district will say, If she can function well in a regular Ed class then she doesn't need Kramer in September. she either needs it or she doesn't. related services can be provided anywhere, but if they are attending a special Ed preschool program, then that's where the child will receive the services. It wont hurt to calland ask the district if that is a possibility, but mostlikly they will say no.

Re: Summer Services??
Speak to her therapists, and I'm pretty sure you will need to contact the CPSE chairperson. I don't see any reason why you can't get services at the other school.
