Random people touching your belly?

Does anyone feel like now that you're pregnant and showing that people will suddenly just reach out and touch your belly?

I was online in Justice buying my niece some stuff recently and the line was literally from the front of the store to the back. A woman behind me was complaining about the line, so I turned and said "by the time I get to check out I can probably buy clothes for this one!" and pointed to my belly. She laughed and said, "oh, poor you, having to wait on this line pregnant in this hot store." and before I knew it, her hands were on my belly.

Ummm, really?? She was perfectly nice and all, but what on EARTH are people thinking? I don't know if I'm out of line here on this, but to me it seems like quite an invasion of privacy. I would NEVER just take it upon myself to reach out and touch someone's body. ESPECIALLY their belly. Just because I have a baby floating around in there doesn't give someone the right to just touch.

Has this happened to anyone? Or am I just the lucky one?

oh gosh! I have heard of this happening to people but luckily no one has touched my belly yet other than friends and family. Even most of my friends and family who do it have asked first. I would never just touch a strangers belly!

Not yet. I did run into someone I used to work with and he ASKED to touch my belly. He said he misses his wife being pregnant so much, he is begging her for another.

oo that can be very annoying.. i haven't had anyone besides mom, mil and DH touch my belly.. I'm also a reserved and private kinda person, so i think i give off the "don't touch me" vibe and that keeps people at bay

That is awkward!! What do you even say to that? would feel awkward saying no but you really dont wanna say yes ha

A complete stranger walked up to me rubbed my belly during my last pregnancy. I was only about 12 weeks along and not really showing yet so really, she was just rubbing my flab

It was definitely uncomfortable and I was taken aback. It didn't help that she had a cigarette hanging from her mouth and the smoke was blowing in my face.

I'm almost 9 weeks along now and so far, no random belly touching (yet)!

I've only experienced this once, and it wasn't a total stranger, just an acquaintance of my Dad who I don't really know, still weird though.

NO idea what the real strangers are thinking, would you EVER touch a stranger, um NO!!

I wouldn't like strangers touching my belly, thats just weird even though I know there heart is in the right place and there excited for me.... family and friends I have no problems with them touching my belly!

so far no strangers have rubbed my belly... i do not mind friends/family/acquaintances doing it, but i can see it get annoying if i am trying to go to the potty and people stopping me in the hallway!

I had one person at work who just reached out and gave it a rub one day - very weird.

everyone else has asked if they can touch it first (which i find weird that you'd want to touch a belly, but whatever )

I have friends asking me all the time...family, whatever. That's fine! But strangers, no way!! My friend has already gone on and on about when I see her this weekend she's going to be giving my belly a good rub. That's okay, I adore her. But strangers? Eh, not so much

Thi snever happened to me until this pregnancy and honestly, it doesn't both me as much as I thought it would. Weird

for my first two, I would have been annoyed, but this time around, I don't care - anyone can touch as long as it's gentle.

Happens ALL the time.

I just got used to it i think.

It never bothered me too much.

I teach art at an elementary school and most of my students will ask if they can touch it-- but some of the younger kids just give me a hug and rub it--I think its cute:) A few of the other teachers have randomly touched it-- but so far it doesn't bother me...

I'm okay with people I know touching my belly but I still feel like I want to hold my breath when they do.

Our CEO touched it yesterday a few times and I nearly died!
