Marina is here!
It turns out I actually WAS in labor all day Sunday when I thought I lost a part of my MP  I knew I wouldn't know when it was really happening haha. I wasn't sure if I was having contractions all day, I just felt a little crampy, but thought it could have been indigestion. But by 3:00-4:00 it started getting rhythmic, like every 15 minutes, and then we started charting it, but it wasn't painful so I didn't think it was anything yet. But then by 7:00 it was starting to hurt, and around 8:00 I fully lost the MP and was bleeding pretty heavy, so we went in to the hospital. By the time I was in the room and hooked up it was just before 9:00, and I was already 5cm dilated! I was shocked, because I didn't have any internals yet so I had no idea I was dilated. I progressed pretty fast, and got to 7cm by 10:30. They said I would be ready to push in an hour or two, but then the epidural was slowing down my contractions, so they had to give me some Pitocin to speed things back up. After that kicked in, they came on fast and strong, to the point where the epidural almost stopped working. I was feeling the contractions down my leg, it must have been hitting a nerve or something. So I didn't end up being able to start pushing until 2AM, but still not very long considering it was my first baby. I was having a lot of trouble making progress for hte first hour, to the point where I was scared I was going to end up with a C-section. Luckily I was able to get the hang of it finally and it was avoided, but it was the hardest thing I've ever done! And no amount of epidural does anything once the baby is in the process of coming out! I couldn't even imagine doing it without anything. Finally, at 4:14 AM on 6/27, Marina made her debut! She's so perfect, I still can't believe she's actually here now. She's such a good baby, barely fusses, is content, and just stares right at you with such a serious little face. I love her so much already!
