What is the range for nursery schools and childcare centers?

Depending on experience and education level, I would say $8-14 an hour

Yes. I worked as a pre-school teacher in a childcare center for a year and even with a master's degree my salary was in the middle of that average.

Yes totally agree. My SIL worked for a posh private preschool in the city & only made 27k a year (although the gifts she got probably surpassed her salary at Christmas/end of year). She went to top schools & got her Masters from Bank Street.
The centers pay low to mid 20's.
I work in a Catholic School & have my Masters in ECE & make the salary dictated by the diocese (does not matter what grade you teach from N-8)--all the same.
