Town vs. Private League for Sports

I want to sign DD up for soccer this fall. Around here, we have either a local Soccer club or she could play with the Town Rec Dept. Are there benefits to playing on one over the other (or bad points?). Just curious because I don't know if there is a huge difference between the two.

Did you compare the programs such as length, price, etc?

DD/DS played for Levittown this past year and DD will be playing for West Babylon in September. I didn't know of any private leagues around here, I always assumed they were town only (except for soccertots).
