Sore throat for week and antibiotics not working

Last Thursday I had a fever of 102 and bad sore throat. The fever lasted two days but the sore throat is still here 7days later. It is painful to swallow. I went to doc last Friday and he said it wasn't strep. He gave me antibiotics. I've taken them six days and my throat is not even a little better. My ears even hurt. Advil helps dull the pain but still hurts to eat. What could it be??

Maybe some other sort of infection? Bacterial infection? I'd go back to the doc asap. Maybe you just need some stronger antibiotics?

I think if you have taken the same antibiotics before, you may become immune to them.

I know for myself, I took Amoxcillin too much and it doesn't work anymore on me really. They have to give me a stronger antibiotic.
