has anyone gone for ESL?

The state said that they think I just have to take 4 classes (2 languages, and 2 in methods) and my certification test. I am certified in Elementary Ed and Literacy right now. If you have done it, how many classes did you have to take, and where did you take them?

Thanks!

Re: has anyone gone for ESL?

I posted the same type of question not too long ago. I am also interested in obtaining my ESL certification.

A fellow teacher was kind enough to tell me that she took 5 classes at St. John's as an extension program along with the cert. test. If you go on the St. John's website, they have the classes need for the certification. Do you teach a world language? I am a Spanish teacher, wonder if I would need the 2 language classes....

I need more $ before I embark on another certification (just obtained Special Ed. in May), but good luck to you and I would be interested to hear the specifics.

thanks for the info...I am not a language teacher...I only have 2 classes in spanish, and you need four classes of a language...I am sure you have it! Once I find out more info, I will let you know!
