Dukan Diet
Anyone here doing the Dukan diet? I've been on it for 3 days and its quite a difficult diet (no carbs, veggies, fruit, oils) for the first attack phase...I am already seeing results, but its not easy to stick with!

Re: Dukan Diet
Okay, I totally read this as the "Dunkin" diet. For a second there I was like "There's a Dunkin Donuts diet?? SIGN ME UP!!"

Re: Dukan Diet
I have never heard of it but I am not a fan of diets that eliminate food groups especially fruits and veggies. These types of diets do not encourage a healthy lifestyle and often result in weight gain when you return to your normal eating habits.

Agreed. Any diet that gets rid of entire groups is a no no for me. Just because it's not healthy or possible to stick to long term.

I read it the same way!! I'm all for a diet consisting of DD bagels and muffins!

The first phase is really a jumpstart (less than a week)...then food is methodically added back in. I actually think it encourages healthy foods and portions more than most diets I have seen. You shouldn't return to your "normal" eating habits on this, since those were probably the unhealthy ones that led to weight gain, etc. The new "normal" habits established through this are balanced between lean protein, veggies, fruit, and lower carb intakes.

Re: Dukan Diet
Good Luck! Weight watcher's is another option if you want to learn healthy eating habits. It was actually rated the best diet plan by US New and World reports. Additionally it offers support.

Re: Dukan Diet
I started the Dukan diet this week and am having a lot of trouble sticking to it. I dont mind eating the oat bran but I am not a huge meat fan and I feel that I have no options. I already broke down and had veggies with my dinner and almonds for a snack so I don't know if I will be able to stick with the first phase !!
Good luck though and its great that you are seeing results. I heard it really does work !
