Board is dead so here's one...
If you are NC do you keep stuff for them at your house?
At first I thought they should pack some stuff but then I realized, they want to feel like it's their house too so Dh and I got them underwear, socks, night stuff, sweatshirts, etc.
I got them headbands, hair ties, etc...

SS and SD have their own rooms with their own clothes/things, etc. because it's their home too regardless of how much time they spend there. It's not like they're going to visit someone or going on vacation, it's shared parenting time.
Before we had a house, they shared their space but always had their own drawers with clothes (pj's, shorts, tops, etc etc).
I would feel odd if they had to pack "things" to come home with us for a few days.
Not saying that this is the only way to do it, this is just the way we do it and our feelings. They have always been raised that this is their home too, don't ask for drinks/food, you live here.

SS is with us 3 days/week & has all of his own things here as well. Early on, it was discovered that it was also just easier, smoother & more comfortable to have duplicate items such as bikes, gameboys (when little), etc., rather than having to remember to pack & bring them back & forth.

My SKs live 20 minutes from us and we have them every other weekend, plus twice weekly for dinner. They have just about everything they need at our house.

SD (12 years old) is with us every 2 wks and she has all her own clothes here but not by choice. Her mother refuses to send her with any clothes or undergarments. Its really difficult for us because we have 2 other kids who live with us and DH pays a lot of child support so it leaves us with very little $
Since we only have her 4 days out of the month it would be financially easier for us if she would pack a bag with a change of clothes for the weekend. She has her own space, brushes, hair ties and so forth.
