this wasn't my time...
i went last night for a sonogram, and what *should have been* a regular prenatal visit, only to see no heartbeat on the sono.
i was 9 weeks as of yesterday and it looks like my LO only stopped growing at 8w 5d.
i suppose i could partially be in denial, as i just kept asking the sono tech if she was "sure" - even though i knew the answer. i was the one to see the heartbeat at my 6 week and 7.4 week sonos before the sono tech said anything to me.
i must have woken up 100x 's last night, stopping myself for a moment and just wishing i was waking up from a bad dream, but, this is my reality.
i am going to the hospital for a D&C this afternoon... but i asked to come by the office first for another sono with a different tech - just to be sure. i know she was probably right last night... but i just wonder, god forbid she was wrong - i just need to confirm it, not see the heartbeat for a 2nd time. just for my own peace of mind.
i know the reality of how "common" this can be, and that i will likely get pregnant again, and i imagined i could understand the devestation when someone went through this - but now that i actually am - i don't even think devestation touches on the feeling. i cannot wrap my brain around this happening... and i don't know where i'm going to pull the strength from to just be ok again.
for anyone who has ever been through this, or anyone that does go through this -  infinity.
i wish all the mommies-to-be out there all the strength, health and happiness in the world. may i join you here again soon

I have been in your shoes more times than I care to recount. And you are right, no one can imagine the devestation until you are there. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You will find the strength and you will get through this. You have no idea just how resilient you are until you are put to the test.
Get through this, grieve, then try again and come back to us. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please, if you ever need to talk, I'm an FM away

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Even the earliest ones are devastating. I was there once, too, around the same time you were. I nowhave one perfectly healthy daughter and #2 on the way. You will get through it, just give yourself some time and allow yourself to grieve.

I have no words... your post just brought tears to my eyes. It was so eloquent and hearfelt and I felt pain with you - but not nearly as much as I'm sure you're feeling (understatement of the year).
Who cares what I say... I feel silly even trying to write anything back after reading your post. I'm just so sorry you're going through something that's understandably so devastating, but I can only wish you the best, keep you in my prayers and hope that you're back here soon.
And I commend you for getting a second opinion before having the procedure. I'd do the same. Was the doctor in there to confirm? Can he be this time?
