i hope i don't sound dumb, but could anyone explain...

to me what a chemical pregnancy is, vs a molar pregnancy vs a "regular" miscarriage?

now that i find myself on this thread in particular, i'm hearing these terms more, and though i have heard of each, and know something about each - i don't REALLY know enough, and i'm curious when i read what any one of us is experiencing.

i appreciate it Chat Icon

chemical pregnancy is a very early m/c usually before 5weeks... for lots of people it seems like a heavier period...

a regular m/c is where a D&C is needed or an actual sac is expelled naturally...

i have No idea what a molar pregnancy is.

bump... anyone else?

i know with a molar pregnancy, you're not supp. to TTC again for 6-12 months and i just wonder why, what makes that so different?

and i know that with a "regular miscarriage" you can have a d&c or it cane happen naturally - i had a d&c at 9 weeks, but suppose it happened naturally... what makes that different than a chemical pregnancy? is it just how far along you are?
thanks

yes a chemical pregnancy is usually a pregnancy that ends before a heartbeat is detectable!

From what I've read about molar pregnancies, there is a chance that the tissue can develop into a disease (even after it's removed), so you have to be monitered closely. That's why they say to wait 6-12 months to TTC again

This ^^ the abnormal cells can grow back and possibly become a form of cancer so they don't want you to get pregnant because they wont be able to tell if it is pregnancy or the cell tissue when they measure your HGC levels. So I've been told.
