Progress photos ala Biggest Loser

HIGHLY recommend.

It really sucks in the first round. I did it back in January wearing only a sports bra and spandex pants. Humiliation was my name. At my heaviest, I tended to ignore the full length mirror so to see myself in that much detail was tough. But it did spur me to get into a good eating and exercise routine.

I had DH take pictures from the front, back, both sides. Face pictures smiling and not smiling. Lower legs from the front and from the side while "flexing" (there was nothing to flex then).

Tonight we took a second round, about 36 pounds later. Then I put both pics side by side in a Word document. What I saw surprised me.

I lost a lot of fat from my back, neck, upper stomach, and face. Medium loss from my hips and upper arms. My boobs, arms, lower stomach, butt and thighs look pretty much the same. Although shirts fit me a lot looser around the chest, I've barely lost 2 pants sizes. My lower body is the biggest "problem area" so it makes sense that there's more progress needed there, even after 36 pounds lost.

None of this is discouraging to me because I'm looking forward to what the next round of pictures will look like when I've lost another 30+ pounds.

So if you're thinking about it but just really down on yourself when you begin, do it anyway. You don't have to look at them again for a while and when you meet a short term or long term goal, they can be inspirational. Chat Icon

Amazing!! Congrats! I took a picture of me in clothes when I started in January too but I could not do it ala Biggest Loser style! You are my hero!
