2 under 2 moms
so...please dont anyone who knows me mention this on fb, lol
DH and I are toying with the idea of having another dc sooner rather then later. We just knw people are going to judge us... one of DH's friends r going to have two under two and people make such a big deal of it
anyway...my question is... does anyone wish they waited? I know you love your kids, but does anyone in hindsight think they should have waited to have number 2 and why?
TIA!!

Re: 2 under 2 moms
DS1 & DS2 are 19 months apart DS2 & DC3 will be about 23 months apart - closer to 2 yrs I am more concerned about the latter spacing than 1 & 2 as now I realize that my 2nd son "gets" it. But, I'll be 2 under 2 twice so I'm doublely insane - and no regrets from the first decision. Will let you know how this one goes

Re: 2 under 2 moms
i don't regret it at all though it was hard in the beginning especially. i'm glad they are 23 months apart (closer to 2 years than 1 year).

Re: 2 under 2 moms
I don't regret it for a second! And my kids are 13 mths apart. Yes, it was hard at the beginning--but I think it often is no matter what. The degree of difficulty depends more on the temper of your children than their age/distance apart, IMO.
And now, I am so so so so happy about how close they are. They are amazing together and absolutely adore each other.

My DDs will be 20 months apart.
We didn't plan it this way, and I am SUPER nervous- but everyone tells me it will be great to have them so close together.

Re: 2 under 2 moms
My boys are 17 months apart and I wanted them to be close in age. I knew it was going to be hard but I didn't know how hard lol. We are alone so we don't have any help bc family lives far.
I love these kids more than life itself and I know its temporary until my little one grows up and my boys will have each other.
honestly if I waited til my first ds was older I prob wouldn't have had another baby knowing how hard it is once they become their own little person
With that said I wouldn't change my life one bit. Im happy my boys are close in age. Its hard but so so worth it. Good luck!

same here...my DC will be 20 months apart and I am extremely nervous!! Many people tell me that it's so nice to have them close in age and I agree but it will be tough in the beginning.

Re: 2 under 2 moms
My DDs are 20 months apart and I have never once questioned the age difference or wish it were different. I think it's great--for the most part they both play with the same things, watch the same shows, read the same books. They're always playing together; they're always fighting too, but that's a post for another thread.
My #3 is 3.5 years younger than #2 and THAT I wish were different sometimes (I tried, but there is much you can't plan, unfortunately...). I worry that he'll be left out of the mix with the big sisters...
But no matter what...it's going to be great! Do you think when they're 30 and 31 (or in my case 30, 34 and 35) you're going to wish the age gap were different?

I LOVED how close my first two were (20 months). I say go for it, it makes it so much easier when they are close!

Re: 2 under 2 moms
Yay! I'm so excited for you! Kieran and this baby will be 22 months apart. We wanted them close together- we decided roughly 2 years apart would be a good spacing. We were blessed enough to get pregnant our first month trying this time around! I can't speak from experience yet, obviously (check back with me in November ) but I'm really excited about it. Kieran is at an age now where he is becoming more independent, and he is understanding a LOT (if not, most) of what we say to him. He definitely does not fully understand the whole idea of what is going to happen, but he knows there is a baby in mommy's belly. He often randomly touches my belly and says "Hi baby!" or hugs or kisses it I've seen him with the little babies at daycare (as you well know!), and he is so sweet to them and so curious about them. He rubs their tummies and puts their binkies back in when they fall out and it's just so sweet to watch. I think it would be harder if he had been, say, 3 or 4 when baby is born, and would be much more used to being our only one. I think he is still young enough to be able to go with the flow, so to speak. As I said, check back with me in November! But that's my take on it for now!

Re: 2 under 2 moms
my girls are almost 13 months (a little less but I hate to say 12 months lol ) Anyway I freaked out in the beginning but now I am SO happy I did it this way...not that #2 was planned but I know when they get a little older it will be easier because they will play with each other and be the best of friends...if all goes well lol
In all honesty I would have liked a little more time with DD#1 before #2 arrived but God had other plans and I couldnt be happier. I say go for it!!

Not 2 under 2 but I have 3 under 3. My twins and my youngest are 26 months apart. I don't regret it at all. I love that they will be so close in age and will be able to play together.

Thanks!! I know when I see keiran so excited around other babies at daycare it makes me think of what logan will think of a sibling. We r planning a move closer to plainview area in December when our lease ends... so we planning to try after that. If we got pregnant righ away Logan would be around 1 year seven months when DC2 would be born. My sis and I are 6 years apart and that for me is juat wayyyy to much

Mine will be 19 months apart! I'm really excited - a little nervous but more excited than anything! I think it depends on the kids' temperment and the parents as well. Good luck

Re: 2 under 2 moms
My girls are just shy of 16 mos apart and although it can get crazy, we are very happy with the spacing. Sometimes I feel like we did not give my older enough time by herself, but then they will be playing so nicely together and I know we made the best decision.

DH and I are going through the same thing right now. DD is 13 months and we are debating what would be the best time if at all. Thanks for posting this question.

Re: 2 under 2 moms
I thought it was very difficult for the first few months. Personally I think a 2.5 year gap would be perfect. Older DS #2 is 2.5 and he is so much easier than when he was a little under 2.

I didn't plan to have my kids 17 months apart, but it just happened. I didn't have any regrets, but boy was it a lot of work initially! Now, it's not bad at all, and they are inseparable. DS calls DD his best friend

Re: 2 under 2 moms
My dd and ds are 13 mos apart. At times, I'm not sure if it's easier to have them this close or if it's just easier to have twins, lol. We were always told, "when you change one, change the other." I do this so that I'm not changing diapers all day long. Good advice...
To answer your question, I love having my kids this close. I'd even love to have 3 under 3, but my dh is a nervous nelly and wants to wait. I say, just get it over with .
Looking back, I'm so happy my ds came along a bit sooner than expected. We wouldn't have it any other way. My two get along great, and they are starting to play better together. Gianna even calls her little brother her "best friend." too cute!!!
