Need Ideas For Telling Our Parents

Our families don't know yet that we're expecting. We're planning to have them over for Labor Day weekend and tell everyone at once. Any ideas? I thought I would have all these fun ideas for how to tell them by now but I'm totally stumped. TIA!

I got each set of parents a 'Grandma and Grandpa's Home' doormat so when they went to the door they saw it and 'got it' we also had balloons- I found gender neutral at dollar tree - it had a baby carriage, rattle..something like that and also got a happy face balloon. We wanted to set up the doormat when they were not home so they'd come home and see it but that was too hard to coordinate so we snuck it in when they were in another room and waited for them to come to the front door or called them over ' hey come here' and filmed it. great reactions.

With my brother I just said "So you're going to be an uncle!" in the middle of a conversation. it took him a few seconds of pure confusion. it was cute.

Labor day is hard.. not like any gift giving that you can sneak in the news that way. And its your house so grandparent doormats wouldn't make sense there. hmmm

some ideas
You can wear a t shirt that says baby baking or something ...
Have a cake that says 'you're going to be a grandparent!'
Put a picture of the home pregnancy test on the fridge - wait for them to notice
Ask randomly, you think I should register at Babies r Us or Buy Buy Baby? or some other random Im pregnant question
Say "So this time next year they'll be ... (one number higher than how many are there) of us here!"

I love the idea about taking the family picture and askinhg about Buy Buy baby or Babies R Us.
My sister bought all the grandparent either grandma or grandpas bibs and got me an "I love my aunt" bib when she told us.

I got my mom and MIL a grandma t-shirt and my father a grandpa hat.

It took my MIL a while since she was already a grandmother, but my mom barely opened the present and freaked out.

Love the ideas of the bibs! I've had a few girlfriends tell their families that way.

Or you can wrap up a framed sono pic with a note that says "I love grandma" etc. for each of the family.

i just bought my parents bids and were planning on giving it to them tonight.....my inlaws on the other hand i have no clue...i dont think they would appreciate any cute gesture like that..i may just have dh tell them over the phone...lol

we have a dog and we dressed him in a "I'm going to be a big brother" t-shirt to tell our families on Easter.

Take a picture of your family tell them ok 1 2 3 say cheese....take the pic then go oh it didnt come out good.....one more time

then go ok 1, 2, 3 IM PREGNANT and snap away!!!

we will also be telling our parents labor day weekend.

our DC is wearing a shirt saying "I'm gonna be a big ...."

I think its fitting that its "labor" day and we are announcing we are pregnant.
