Gyro's?
There is a greek festival this weekend, and I could really go for a gyro. Are they ok to eat? I dont remember seeing anything about gyros specifically....

Yummmm. I've had several chicken gyros lately.
As long as meat is cooked through, it's fine to eat. And no one would serve you a gyro raw!

Port Jefferson Annual Greek Festival Presented by Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption Date: August 18 - 21, 2011
This festival is a community event put together by the families of The Assumption community and we invite you to join us in the festivities. For over 37 years now, the Greek festival has entertained the people of Port Jefferson and others from neighboring towns with glorious displays of fireworks, musical sounds, and authentic tastes. This 4 day event will feature such culinary delights as gyros, pastitsio, moussaka, souvlaki, spanakopita & tyropita and much more.
On behalf of the Festival and Raffle Committees and the Parish Council, we would like to thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to your participation in our Annual Greek Festival/Raffle.
Hours: Thursday, August 18th - 5:00pm to 10:00pm Friday, August 19th - 5:00pm to 11:00pm Saturday August 20th - 1:00pm to 11:00pm Sunday August 21st - 1:00pm to 10:00pm
Directions: LIE Exit 64 (Route 112). Go North to Port Jefferson (pass Rt. 83, pass Rt. 347) Go over Railroad tracks. 1st traffic light after RR tracks - make a LEFT onto Sheep Pasture Road. Follow Sheep Pasture Road to the STOP sign - make a LEFT and then a RIGHT (You are still on Sheep Pasture Road). After next STOP sign, you will see the Church on the LEFT hand side.
