School photographer HELP!
I'm trying to locate a photographer for DS's pre-school (for school & class pics). The one we had last year just didn't deliver or follow through on everything. How can I go about finding one? Any recommendations?

DDs dance school uses them. the pics were awesome one year and terrible the next. Then when I called to complain and for a refund, there was tons of problems with their bookkeeper etc.

Lifetouch does our elementary school. It's also done online which is convenient.

Our preschool also used Slayton- I was so upset when the paperwork/envelope came home with the kids. The choices of background and the sample photos were awful, IMO. I can't tell you how my mind changed about them once the photos came back. I LOVED them. I ended up loving the background I chose- The kids looked great. I was so impressed. Last year, I was bummed that DS wasn't still in the same school to have his pictures done with them again. I have no experience with the bookkeeping.

Our were super cute too! We had a choice of backgrounds, most of them I didn't like to be honest (but that's even typical for the popular elementary school photographers like Herff Jones, Lifetouch, etc.). We ended up with the "school" background that had the books, etc. and they came out super adorable.

The kids pre-school also uses Slayton and we are in NJ. The director has been using them for a really long time and I love the way the pictures come out every year (been going for 3 years). Our school doesn't offer a background and they do a foliage background.

I do yearbooks, so I know a little about school photographers 
Lifetouch is good and dependable, but because they're so big, if there's a problem sometimes it can take a while to get resolved.
I used Island Photo for the first time last year and LOVED them. They're a smaller company, easy to work with, very personal. I would recommend them.
