Girls at the end... worried about the hurricane?
I'm 38 weeks and a bit worried about going into labor during the storm. The baby is breech so I will need a c-section plus I've been having contractions for a few days now so I'm getting nervous she might come early. At my OB appt today they said I'm "thinned out" so I guess something is happening down there too! I've had people tell me the changes in air pressure from the hurricane can cause your water to break so I'm definitely getting anxious!! Plus we're at least 35 min from the hospital without trees down so I have no idea how long it will take to get there! Anyone else getting nervous?

I'm going in tonight! I feel like it's going to be mayhem and that no one will be around on sunday!
I feel like asking OB to postpone until Monday, but I probably don't want to risk going into labor on Sunday.
dava - I'll be thinking about you!!

Re: Girls at the end... worried about the hurricane?
Definitely getting a bit nervous..We're not super close to the hospital, so I cant imagine trying to drive there during a hurricane with flooding, trees down, winds, etc
Will be thinking of you girls!!!!
Our little ones stay put until after this mess!

Re: Girls at the end... worried about the hurricane?
39 weeks today and I've been feeling very crampy. I was not dilated as of Tuesday so hopefully I won't go into labor. I live in VA Beach and this hurricane is projected to hit us as a Cat 2 hurricane Early Sunday morning. I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous.

You go to another hospital.
Southside is being evac to Manhasset and Good Sam to Stony Brook....That info came from my dr when I was in his office at 2pm.

Re: Girls at the end... worried about the hurricane?
I'm not at the official end yet, but I just got a + FFN test this week which means I *could* go into labor in the next 2 weeks.
I'm high risk with twins, with a cervix that isn't worth measuring anymore according to my Drs. The last time the measured it, it was only 7mm. The main reason my aren't here yet is that I have a cerclage.
I was in the hospital for PTL a few weeks ago and have been on strict bed rest at home for about 6 weeks now.
Oh yeah, and I'm 1cm dilated and about 80% effaced ... but I've been that way for weeks now with no real change.
We live 1 block south of sunrise hwy and are trying to decide what to do. We have no real place to go.

Re: Girls at the end... worried about the hurricane?
I;m only 33 weeks, but if one more freaking person tells me that the drop in barometric pressure brings on labor I'm going to freaking scream. As if I need more to worry about.

Re: Girls at the end... worried about the hurricane?
I am sooo scared! I was supposed to be induced on Sunday night at Good Sam. But that plan is definitely out. I am 39.4 wks and my due date is Monday! I am freaking out! Dh and I are going to stay with family in queens tomorrow morning. The hospitlas are just closer and I think ems would have an easier time getting to me there if I needed an ambulance. I pray for all of us!!!!
