Temping Question
I am going to start temping tomorrow (AF came today), and I know it's important to take your temp at the same time everyday, before drinking/sitting up, etc.
My question is, what if you get up in the middle of the night to pee, then go back to bed. Does this mess with your temp for that day? I get up to use the bathroom pretty frequently and wonder if I will still get a pretty accurate reading.
Also, if you take your temp 15 minutes earlier or later than your scheduled time, is all lost? Sometime I naturally wake up a little earlier than my alarm.
Thanks!

Re: Temping Question
From personal experience I haven't had to much of an issue with temperature change if I get up in the night or +/- 1-2 hours. I thought I would have no luck temping because I wake up stressed every morning but so far my chart has been pretty consistent and matched up w/ OPK/FF

Re: Temping Question
I believe what I read is you should take your temp after at least 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I usually take mine in between 7/7:30 even though it's recommended to take it the same time every day.

Re: Temping Question
I'm sorry I find this so confusing, but do you actually keep the thermometer on your nightstand? What if your alarm goes off, you get up , go into the bathroom & temp there before peeing or anything? Is that ok?

Re: Temping Question
I think either is fine but be consistent (its really a comparison you are looking for from one day to the next not the actual number on the thermometer)

Re: Temping Question
From what I have read, keep it on your nightstand, turn off alarm, grab thermometer and temp. Then get up, etc.
Thanks for the comments ladies!

Re: Temping Question
Well, you should have at least 3 hours of interrupted sleep before taking your temp. Your temps may be off but just temp for a few months and see what happens. Its possible it may not affect it that much. If you do wake up early then you should take your temp then unless you go back to sleep and sleep for at least another 3 hours. As far as temping 15 mins early I dont think thats a big deal at all. It has happened to me and my temps stayed pretty much were they were suppose too.
