Why dont you just link it here. I don't think I'd give out my email address for an article.

I think the best thing to do is ask medical professionals what they've done during their own deliveries....I was surprised to hear the answers I heard.
After my research, we will be donating babies cord blood.

Agree...I was surprised to hear my OB did not bank his childrens cord blood. My hospital does not do the donations otherwise I would have done that.

Re: if you're on the fence about cord blood banking
this is a VERY personal decision but I too asked my doctor and went with his advice which was to invest the $ in the stock market instead.
He suggested that public banks are much more likely to have an available match should the need arise.
I would now like to donate baby's cord blood to the public banks, does anyone know how to go about doing this? Do I ask the hospital? Doctor?

you have to find out if your hospital participates... mine does (LIJ)

after talking to my ob and doing a lot of my own research, i have also decided to donate rather than privately bank. here is a list of hospitals that participate in donations:

I read an article a while back (don't remember where) but after reading it, I am definitely considering donating.

Re: if you're on the fence about cord blood banking
My dr also recommended donating instead of privately banking the cord blood- that is what we will be doing too
