Review of Galangal in syosset

We just went last Friday for our anniversary. To their location in Syosset.

We had a groupon.

I will say that from beginning to end we had an amazing experience.

They reserved a quiet table for us. Remembered our reservation.

The staff was there but discret and not overbearing. Our waiter knew all the answers to our questions. So helpful yet to the point not striking a conversation.

The food was amazing. Great presentation!

I never had to ask for a refill of water. I never notice the staff around us.

I would have expected to spend a lot more $$$ based on our experience and food.

DH had sushi & Sashimi. He said the quality was really good.

The place is small yet roomy. Very City lounge!

I would totally recommend this place.

Overall, what type of food is it mostly? Sushi? I stare at it out the window every time I am in Friendly's with my kids

It's a Japanese/Thai type food.

DH ate Sushi/Sashimi but I don't eat raw suchi.

I had Beef Nagamiki. It's rolled beef like a suchi roll but with scallion (?) inside. It was excellent.

They have a lot of "spicy" food which I also don't eat. But they have shrimp tampura, etc...

LOVE this place! We've been going there since it opened. I'm glad they did a Groupon...I feel like not a lot of people know about it because its not really visible from the street.

Funny my last experience there was bad. I happen to love their food but last I went I was pregnant. I ordered a seaweed salad and it was topped with tons of fish eggs. I had no idea. When it came, I told them that the menu doesn't list the fish eggs and since I was pregnant I couldn't eat it and asked for another salad. The waiter brought it to the guys behind the sushi counter. I had a direct view and he literally just took the fish eggs off the top. A few were still scattered inside. I got annoyed and asked for a new salad. IT's seaweed, not gold. They could afford to toss it and give me a new one! I already had a lot of fish that week and being pregnant I just didn't want anymore!
