Vacationing during your cycle
We are supposed to be going away for four days at the end of September but I am stressing out that my iui will fall than or I'll need to have blood drawn. Do you avoid going on vacations when your seeing the re? I am so nervous about going away for four days and missing my opportunity this month.

Re: Vacationing during your cycle
This is why in close to two years, we have been on one vacation, and I was pregnant at the time
In all honesty.. if I know I'm in the middle of a cycle, I try to avoid planning.. but that's just ME.. There are lots of people in the school of thought where you shouldn't let this stuff run your life.

Re: Vacationing during your cycle
Not sure if you followed my drama while on vacation. I posted about it here asking what people thought when I was initially planning it. We managed to plan it out so it was during the 2ww and I didnt need to miss any monitoring or the IUI appts. We had to book closer to that cycle so I could predict it better.
That said, Irene totally messed up my plans and I did not bring enough Lovenox and I suffered consequences. Not to scare you, but at this point, I'm never leaving my house!
I spoke with the doc at length about it and we both felt comfortable with me going during that time. I did not want to put my whole life on hold due to TTC, esp since we hadnt seen DH's grandma in 2 years and she is 99.
So no good advice, just that was my experience.

Re: Vacationing during your cycle
We went on an eight day vacation in February to Arizona and unfortunately we had to take the month off because we were away for "O" time, but it actually worked out great for us as hard as it was to take a month off, we got pg the next month with clomid and IUI! If you really need a vacation, take one!

Florida sounds great... but why not put off the trip by a few months and you can go when it's cold here in NY? .. By then hopefully it will be a babymoon!!

Re: Vacationing during your cycle
We cancelled a 4-day trip earlier this summer due to my 2nd IVF cycle. It's an unfortunate reality of the infertile couple. You either skip a month (which isn't a terrible idea), or just do whatever it takes to make that cycle work.

Re: Vacationing during your cycle
After 2 plus years of IF, we decided to take a break and go to Mexico before my next IVF cycle (I was on BCP while there to get ready for the cycle). We lived it up and had a great vacation, then came back recharged and ready. I am happy to say the next cycle was stressful but I am currently 28 weeks pregnant!!! I was never in favor of breaks but my Dh really felt we needed one. Wishing you lots of luck!!!

Yes. Lifes too short. Go on vacation. Enjoy it. (It took me three plus years to say that!) I was out of the country for my beta and planned knowing that.

Totally agree. I just heard my DH talking to a family member saying as tough as this journey has been we can look back and say we vacationed every year, went on 5 cruises and a trip to Vegas. We went to Florida numerous times and had our fun throughout this whole journey. Im finally 19 weeks pregnant and it was the right time. We look back with no regrets because we did everything we wanted to do before this baby comes along. We now look forward to family trips next year and trips with our friends who all have kids, and hopefully the occasional alone trip.

Re: Vacationing during your cycle
Go on vacation. If you miss ovulation, it's a 4 week wait again, which is not a lot in the grand scheme of things.
We took a trip to Italy back in April, which forced us to miss a cycle, and I am so glad we did. It was am amazing trip, that we were able to enjoy without the stress of having to pee on a stick, worry about when to BD, etc.
Good luck!
