bus stops?
today was my son's first day of kindergarten! He took the bus home. I waited for the bus at the corner of our street and a main road. (which IS the bus stop).
the bus drive missed the street and stopped almost two houses past our street (the bus stop).
To turn a long story short. the bus driver basically said he is catering to one parent
what are your feeling about this?

Re: bus stops?
If that is a bus stop that was made by the school and is on their list, he should be stopping there.

Re: bus stops?
He can get in a lot of trouble for doing that, unless the bus company/school district approved it. When one of my neighbors requested to change the bus stop, she had to write a letter and get everyone else who was at the bus stop sign it saying we were okay with it. I know the bus company for our district has very strict rules about this.

Re: bus stops?
I can't change our bus stop, even though my DC are the only ones on the stop, it's two doors down at the corner, and immediately after our stop in the morning (and immediately before the stop in the PM), the bus goes directly in front of our house....
We asked about changing it, too....

Re: bus stops?
My son is picked up at our house. The only one on his route to be picked up at the door, and not at a "stop". This is because we are in the middle of a long stretch of street, and the street is considered a secondary street. I have heard some complaints that he gets p/u and d/o at our house, but it's not my doing, it's the school district that came up with it. and I have no complaints.

I agree...I would call the transportation company and tell them to stop where they are supposed to.

Re: bus stops?
I think that if more then one child gets on/off at a bus stop, then the bus stop should be the one dictated by the district. If only one kid is at the bus stop, then I think it's fine, and much appreciated , for them to pick up/drop off in front of the house.

Re: bus stops?
MY mom was a bus driver for years, this is not allowed unless there is an official admin. change.

Re: bus stops?
Our bus stop is listed as at the corner but the bus actually drops off and picks up 100 feet in from the corner so as not to be on a main road. Before we were at the bus stop they would stop closer to the 2 other houses that were on the stop but now since we are there they do it 100 feet from the corner. I would call school about it.
