Art for the home?
Any places you suggest to look for nice prints for the house?
I looking to purchase black and white photography for a few rooms and maybe a nice piece of art for my livingroom.
(not homegoods, bbb, etc)

Re: Art for the home?
Are there any galleries by you? I know there's a lovely little gallery in Port Jeff Village, and they sell work from local artists.
We tend to buy art when we go on a trip. We need more walls!

So funny, that's exactly what I've been looking for (to no avail!). When I had my apartment I bought some cheap black and while photographs for my walls at Ikea actually. It was quite nice for the price. Now that I'm married with a house I feel like I need to buy "grown up" art but I'm having a tough time finding things I like.
Ugallery.com is another website, although I'm not in love with anything on there, maybe you'll see something you like. This is tough!

Exactly! I wish i knew of any art galleries near by to go into. And while I want an "adult" piece of art, I dont necessarily care to spend $1,000s.
I might go to Pace Prints in the city. Aside from the b&w photos for the one room, I have no idea what I want for above my couch in my den

Re: Art for the home?
I just bought two pieces from gallery direct. Unfortunatley they are just prints on wrapped canvas but the up side is you can order them any size you choose. Although they are not originals they are high quality prints. you can also check out their artists and possibly research and buy some originals from the artists themselves. Im a big fan of Joel Ganucheau.
