Re: .5 Position?
what level?
for ms/hs, a full time position is 5 classes, so you would be teaching 2 full year classes and 1 half year classes

Re: .5 Position?
idk what exactly a .5 position would look like but I'd def apply. .5 looks better than subbing it prob comes with benefits.

Yeah, I don't know what it would look like at the elementary level. I did apply, and I know someone who has secured me an interview. I'm hoping, if I get the position, that it would come with benefits.
Thanks.

Re: .5 Position?
I'm fairly certain it would be 50% of the salary. Just not sure about the days/hours and benefits.

It could be anything. usually if it's an even number .2, .4, .6, .8 it's more likely to be days. .5 sounds like 5 half days to me.
If you think teachers work about 1000 minutes a week in teaching time, I would say 500 minutes/week (give or take) - not including prep/lunch time.

Re: .5 Position?
I started as a .6 in Phys Ed. I was in the middle school though and so I only taught a couple classes. I got 60% of the salary and .6 of my benefits were covered. I needed to pay for the rest. It was a great way to stick my foot in the door. Good luck!
