Made an appt with an RE
After several months of irregular periods and no BFP my Ob/Gyn thinks I should see an RE to find out if there is anything to be concerned about.
DH and I have an appt with Dr. Rosenfeld in Manhasset. I am a bit nervous, but also excited to move towards some type of resolution.
Has anyone been to an RE? What can I expect at the first appt? Thanks!

Re: Made an appt with an RE
You will talk about your history... what brings you to the RE in the first place... what your concerns are... etc. They may or may nor run bloodwork and/or do a sono. It depends on where you are in your cycle.
When I went for my consult, we talked for about 45 mins and then I got bloodwork done but no sono.
Good luck!!

Re: Made an appt with an RE
First they generally talk to you about your concerns, get your history. Bring any recent bloodwork with you so they can look over it. My re did an exam similar to an annual at the ob, drew blood,.gave me scripts to get dh sa, and for me to have an hsg. Good luck!

Re: Made an appt with an RE
My first appointment was to go over medical history and then they talked to us about our options. After that, I had blood work done and then had a sonogram. We were told to schedule an appointment for an HSG when I was on CD 1. Tomorrow, we are going for that and for SA.
Good Luck!

Re: Made an appt with an RE
I see a different doctor in the same practice. I'm pretty new to meeting with the RE myself. My first appt was discussing my history, he ran some blood work and gave me a prescription for more blood work. He'll probably also schedule you for a HSG sonogram to make sure your uterus looks clear and healthy. Good luck!

Re: Made an appt with an RE
I saw a RE after already having a diagnosis and previous surgery so at my first appt we discussed what my options are, he did an exam w/ sono and I had bloodwork done because it was CD4. We also got lots of scripts for add'l blood tests, SA and meds.

Re: Made an appt with an RE
I go to Dr. Rosenfeld he is very nice and funny too! ( was there on Wednesday and he told me I had two eggs in my left ovary so that I should tell my DH to "aim left". I was on CD8 when I went in for my first appointment and after telling him my history he did a sono. Originally, he was going to send me to the lab for bloodwork on cd3 of my next pd but when he did the sono he didn't see any sign of impending ovulation as it should be by CD8. So he had me do the bloodwork right then and there to make sure there were no thyroid issues and such. Then he gave me a Rx for Clomid and scheduled me for another sono and a "post coital" test. I've been going every 2 weeks for monitoring.
