Re: When did you first offer your baby puffs and/or bread?
We started cereal/oatmeal/pureed fruits & veggies at 6 months. Then I didn't offer him Puffs until he was around 10.5 months old because he was having a really hard time swallowing anything with texture. I would give him tiny pieces of mashed fruit like bananas or peaches, and because it wasn't pureed, he'd gag & then vomit. So his ped said to try the Puffs to get him used to other textures. He's 11 months old now & it really has helped! He'll eat pieces of cheese now & mushy fruits. We haven't tried bread yet.
HE LOOOVES THE PUFFS!!!!!!

IIRC ( gee after having my 1st 2 DC's gone through this already , you'd think I might know )
I believe once a child masters their pincer grip, it is a sign that they are ready for things such as puffs etc....I also think the container gives a reccomendation that the child should be a crawler....
How quickly we forget !!!

Re: When did you first offer your baby puffs and/or bread?
We didn't introduce puffs until 9m... DS is 12m now and I'm still paranoid about giving him bread! Just gave him his first Cheerio this week, that's how afraid of choking I am! He does fine with anything we give him, it's just my issue, lol. Puffs are probably one of the safer foods though, bc after a few seconds they melt in their mouths anyway.

Re: When did you first offer your baby puffs and/or bread?
i just started puffs last week...dd just turned 7 months. she doesn't seem like much of a fan of the good old puff...they are more of a toy right now. if she gets one in her mouth she makes a face and tries to spit it out...lol she does however LOVE teething cookies but i watch her like a hawk b/c she is able to break of a big chunk after while and i have this intense fear of her choking

Re: When did you first offer your baby puffs and/or bread?
6m he a big tall hungry boy :) he had pincer grasp perfected a month later, I think solely because he was eating puffs. He grabbed bread out of my hand at around 4m. But I didn't like giving him bread, he ate so much, and I felt bread is empty calories, I didn't want to plump him up with it.
we also started solids early at 3.5m per peds advice, because he was going over 40oz a day in formula and as big as a 6m by then
at 19m he wont eat so there, so much for staring solids, introducing veggies, doing all the good things your supposed to do or not
offer it when your baby is ready, baby will let you know
