Re: 3 hour in home birthday party for 1st grader.....
I've been to quite a few K, 1st and 2nd grade parties, and I can count on one hand the total number of parents that dropped their DC off. Granted, most of the parties weren't at a home, but even at home parties, the overwhelming majority stayed at the party.

We had a in home party when DS was in 2nd grade. I would say that more than half the parents stayed. The few that left, didn't stay away long. They came back before the party ended.

DD was invited to a home bday last year in 1st grade and the invite actually said "drop off" on it. None of the parents stayed.

Re: 3 hour in home birthday party for 1st grader.....
We have only had 2 "at home" parties that we were invited too and we dropped her off for both of them. The house was just so crowded and I just couldn't imagien what it would have been like if all of the parents stayed!

Re: 3 hour in home birthday party for 1st grader.....
Thanks all !
We are doing the party outdoors so space isn't "too" much of an issue however....parking on the other hand could get tricky
DS has 22 kids in his class, plus all my family and friends with DC's

Re: 3 hour in home birthday party for 1st grader.....
I would expect most to stay. If I had doubt I would put something on the invite about parents being welcome. I would be very uncomfortable if the invitation specifically said "drop-off" for kids who are 6, especially for a party in a home.
