So swollen
what happens if all if this comes out of the blue? Last visit dr commented but it wasnt half as bad as it is this weekend. My ankles are non existent and now have lines from all the puffiness. BP was a little up but nothing severe...120/90. Urine came back severely dehydrated. Ive been drinking a bottle of gatorade a day and a ton of water. Baby has been on the bladder the whole time. I am 15 days away from a Csection. I dont want to stir things for an early birth.

Re: So swollen
i'm wondering the same thing - what is "severe" swelling to the point that you need to call dr. i don't know the answer, but my ankles have been ridiculous for the past 2 days - i can't get anything on my feet, and they ache.

Re: So swollen
when this happened to me it was pre-eclampsia. your BP also isnt ideal - when i was on hospital bedrest being monitored they said anything 140/90 was high and your is 90 so i would def keep an eye on it.
for me severe swelling meant my feet were so big that when i walked it felt like i was stepping into weird gelatinous goop cause my feet were literally giant and mooshy . i also had protein in my urine which was really the kicker for pre-eclampsia.

Re: So swollen
I had pre-e also. What I noticed was one leg was more swollen then the other. I was having trouble breathing when trying to sleep. Also my face seemed to blow up, and my hands. I would defin call your doctor asap. It doesn't hurt to just go in to get checked. Kwim? I really hope it is nothing, but you rather be safe than sorry.

I don't remember if I had dry mouth, but I know my BP was very high and I was VERY swollen, I couldn't even wear flip flops! I had to eat a very bland diet, and go on bed rest for like a day, since my BP didn't go down my Dr did an emergency C.

My fear is that they will pull the baby no matter what since its so close. I wasnt prepared for this to happen. Very odd. Tons of gatorade and I still feel dehydrated. My feet feel like I drank a gallon of sea salt. My hands arent much better. My face is fine though.

Mine are def equally swollen. I also read it happens alot after the 37th week. I think I am going to faint....

Re: So swollen
Gatorade is high in sodium. You're better off with water.
I had horrific swelling from 23 weeks on. In the final month I started with Gatorade, and my doc strongly suggested I go back to water. Not sure it made a difference, but I was willing to listen to anything at that point.

Last pregnancy I had bad swelling from 16 weeks on. It just got worse, but my BP was always goood, and never had protein in my urine. As a PP also said, one leg/foot/ankle more swollen than the other is a sign of Pre-E. My swelling was just swelling, by the end, I looked like this:

OMG you poor thing!!! That looks like it was painful!!!
I didn't see this post when I posted about the hand swelling. Laides who had the pre-e, did the swelling go down at all or was it always consistant? With my Hands I'm super swollen when I wake up, and then the swelling goes down. It's the opposite with my ankles - wake up fine and puffs up throughout the day.
