Suffer the pain of discipline,

Runners: How regular is your menstrual cycle?

Let me preface by saying that my menstrual cycle is generally between 28-32 days long and I gave birth to my second child in February. We don't plan on having anymore children.

I've already had a few periods after giving birth and they fell within that range. Now I am on day 45 and only had CM a few days ago so I know my period is coming in the near future but not for atleast a week.

Also since I began running in April when I received clearance from my obgyn, every month my mileage has gone up. (I currently run about 120miles a month) I have had no issues thank God. This is the first time my cycle has been this long. I feel fantastic but just want to know if something similar has happened to the rest of you? Should I be really that concerned if I feel great otherwise? TIA

My sister is an OBGYN and i asked her about my cycles. They are very long...at least 6 weeks between periods. She said it's normal for people that exercise as frequently as I do (and with that mileage I am sure you "qualify" too lol). She also said (and is not the first doctor to tell me this) as long as you get your period a few times a year and are feeling well then not to stress about it!

Very irregular but it's not because of my running. If anything, running helps my period become more normal than it otherwise would be.

I run 45 miles a week (180 miles a month) and I get my period every 28-32 days.

I am running less (but working out just as much) since my half marathon last week and my periods are extremely regular.

I have always been super regular (28/29 days) and have been running since puberty. I always thought that was why i was so regular.
