gift for a 12 year old boy

help! I have no clue. He's mild mannered, polite, good student, and I know nothing else about him.

I don't want to do gift cards, more of a token. (in the 20-50 range)

Any ideas?

If he likes a particular sport team you can get him a winter hat and a sweatshirt.

Xbox games are always popular.

Game balls: basketball, football. Wiffle ball set (complete with bases). My 12 yo is into sports so I apologize if he is not. Also, movies (DVDs or tickets) are a big hit around here.

I think the hat and sweatshirt of a team he likes is a good idea too.
