When you don't Ovulate...
I've been using the wondfo opk's since July and haven't had a dark test line yet. When I went to my dr, he did b/w and said that I haven't O'ed yet and my lining was very thick. He gave me provera to bring on AF and it's been 1 month since then. I want to start taking clomid, but if I don't O then what do I do? From what I gather, Clomid stimulates the follicles to make more eggs, but if I don't O I'm afraid those will just turn into cysts. Is there anything I can do/take to coincide with taking clomid?

Re: When you don't Ovulate...
Clomid is what you take to ovulate...you usually start with 50mg as the dosage and if you dont ovulate with that they may increase the dosage to 100-150mg...there are some people that do not respond to clomid so the doctor would put you on a different drug.

Re: When you don't Ovulate...
you take clomid (or other drugs) to stimulate follicle production (some or most follies have eggs, some dont). if you need it (i've never had a cycle not using it) the doc can give you hcg aka or a trigger shot, aka ovidrel, so you can release the eggs. I assume the doc saw from my bloodwork that my ovulation is totally screwed up, which is why he added the trigger shot. HTH

Re: When you don't Ovulate...
Ditto what the other girls said. You most likely don't ovulate on your own bc your hormones aren't doing their job & creating any follicles (this is the case for me anyway). Clomid will help your follicles grow & they should release on their own when they are mature. The trigger shot of course is another option so you can time it perfectly. Hope that is helpful

Re: When you don't Ovulate...
I dont ovulate on my own and all three of my IUIs with clomid were in conjunction with an HCG shot to make me ovulate.

Clomid will not make you ovulate - it stimulates your ovaries to produce multiple follicles. The HCG shot is given to trigger ovulation.

Clomid will not make you ovulate. it just stimulates the ovaries to produce folliciles. That alone may help you in releasing the egg(s) but it is not a guaranty. To guaranty the release a trigger shot will be given.
