When to stop using high chair?
When did you stop? Did you just switch to a booster seat? Something else?
I think my boys are getting to that point.

Re: When to stop using high chair?
At about a year we switched to a booster, and then at maybe 18 months? he started refusing the booster and went to a regular chair. He won't sit for long, but will eat quickly before he runs away.

cuteness!
my darling is 20 months today and is still in his high chair. but we took off the tray and have been pushing his chair up to the table since he was about 14 months or so. he's a squirmy little dude, but he does ok in there still.

Re: When to stop using high chair?
We stopped when we realized the only way to get DS in was to try and shove his butt down into the seat. It wasn't worth the fight so we switched to the booster (he'd been using the travel one for a long time when we were out so we started with that.) I don;t remember but I think it was around 1 1/2?

Re: When to stop using high chair?
DD will be 4 in less than 60 days. She still uses the high chair. First, the chairs for our dining room table are upholstered in off white. We don't want them stained with food, or ripped, so we decided no booster. Second, the high chair is adjustable so it is always the perfect height for DD to be able to reach the table. Third, she's not complaining. Fourth, she has not reached the weight limit, nor has her bottom physically outgrown the chair.
Nowhere is it written that you have to "stop" using a high chair.

I would have totally kept DS in the high chair (we had a fisher price space saver one attached to a chair) but he just started refusing to go in and meal time became such a fight!

Re: When to stop using high chair?
Um... my 3 yr old DS and 4 Yr old DD still use them for dinner (breakfast and lunch is usually at the kitchen counter)
They don't complain...and it helps keep the messier meals contained
ETA: I feel they eat better in the high chair...otherwise they get up and get distracted easier!!!!!

Mine too. I have tried to let them sit at the table, but they do not eat. I will be keeping them there for a while I think.

Re: When to stop using high chair?
At 1 year. switched to just a booster in our chair(no tray).
I hate my high chair & she loved being at the table with us.

Re: When to stop using high chair?
We used a high chair until she was about 19 months, then she just sat in a regular chair at the table. Now, she's in a booster seat (since 21 months), since we have a new table and chairs and she's just not quite tall enough to eat comfortably without one.
