when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
DS is 20 months old.
1) he drinks well from a regular cup but i still give him sippys because he makes a mess with the regular cup sometimes. plus he can't walk around with a regular cup or use it in the car. and forget it when he has milk/juice/etc--they only go in a sippy.
when did you stop using sippy cups and switch just to regular cups?
2) when did you stop using the high chair and have DC sit in a regular chair for meals? DS sits fine in a chair but makes more of a mess so we keep him in his booster for meals. we never use the high chair because it doesn't fit in our kitchen so i want to sell it. DH is under the impression that he will go into the high chair when he outgrows the booster but i'm trying to convince him he'll go right to a chair.
when did you retire the highchair/booster?

DH thinks he is going to go from the booster back to the high chair?? Isnt it the opposite way?? DD is currently going from the high chair to the booster seat... then she'll just sit in the regular chair... don't you still need the high chair for DD?

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
We're not getting rid of either anytime soon. G can sit well in a regular chair and likes to sometimes, but she still likes sitting in the highchair and eats better in it, so I'm in no rush to get rid of it.

Jacen is 20 months and we're not getting rid of either for a long time.
He went from his high chair to his booster seat now and prefers the booster 99% of the time.
To get rid of the sippy and booster chair... would mean a huge mess all around my house. I know our dog would love it, but me not so much.

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
My DS is 2.5 years and he still uses straw sippy cups. He could drink from a cup, but the sippy is just easier. He sits in his booster for meals. Sometimes I put the tray on it and other times I move it right up to the table. The booster seats helps him reach the table better.
My DD it 16 months and she is still in her highchair. She has a booster seat that she uses when we are out to eat. Soon I will be retiring her highchair, and switching her to the booster seat for her meals at home.

we never ever use the high chair. DS has been in the booster since he started cereal at 4 months. i think we've used the high chair maybe 3 times in 20 months. DD will go right to a booster as well--she's already sitting in DS's booster when i need my hands free!

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
DD can drink out of a regular cup and I let her do so at the end of a meal once I've finished eating and can watch her closely. She doesn't understand that you can't wave it around and shake it like a sippy cup. This started at about 2 years. I will give her a cup of water with her snack, I just have to make sure that my laptop and iphone aren't on the table in spill range.
We moved her from the highchair at about 2 years, maybe a little sooner. Into a booster seat with straps, that she now climbs in and straps herself into it for each meal. She's 2.5 and a very good eater and extremely well mannered at the table. (I'm VERY lucky, I know.) I think we are going to move her into a very basic booster with no straps soon something that will just give her a height boost. She is 2.5 now.

DS is almost 3. I do not plan on getting rid of sippy cups anytime soon.
We put the highchair downstairs in the basement at about 2.5

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
Lily stopped using the high chair at around 20 months, I think. She didn't like being contained, so we got her a booster seat. Now she sits at the table (she's almost 3).
Sippy cups.....we use them, but not nearly as much as we used to. She's been getting a regular cup with a straw more than anything else. And not spilling it a lot.

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
DD stopped using the high chair around 18-20 months. Then she used a booster for about 2 months and now she sits/kneels on a regular chair.
She can drink pretty well from regular cups, but I don't see getting rid of the sippy anytime soon.

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
DS is 26 months.
Cups: At meals we only use "big boy" cups. If he asks for one during the day I explain that it has to stay in the kitchen. DS doesnt make a mess drinking but he likes to PLay with it so that makes a mess.
He still gets a sippy on and off throughout the day and when we go out.
Highchair: DS has been out of that since about 20 months. I was using it until about December for mess meals, IE pasta... He sits in booster for meals. There was a period where he wouldnt do the booster and just sat in a regular chair. Now he is okay with the booster again. I still have my HC out but only because I have been too lazy to pack it away. I have no intention of DS ever using it again. (although after a friend's DS sat in it, that day at lunch he had to sit in the HC

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
DD is 27 months.
She uses the straw cup in her high chair. Sippys around the house and out.
I am going to move her to the booster seat probably this weekend. I think it's time. We'll see how that goes.

DS is 3 1/2 and most of the time drinks from a regular cup but sometimes he asks for a cup with a straw. He has been sitting in a regular seat since he was about 2 years old.

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
DD is 3 and she sits in a booster (no tray or straps) to help her reach the table better. She went from a high chair to the booster at about 20 months. At the table she drinks out of a regular cup, but walking around or in the car she gets a straw sippy. She actually could use a regular cup around the house but my 20 month old knocks them over.
My 20 month old just recently went into a booster (no tray, but he gets strapped in!!!) He sits fine at a little table, but I'm too afraid he'd fall off the chair unto the floor because he doesn't always sit still. He's 95% straw sippy - occassionally at the table I'll give him a cup with a straw. If he drinks without a straw it all ends up on his shirt

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
We gave up the high chair before she was 2. We tried a booster but she didn't really like it so we put her in the chair and put a chair cushion on it to give her a little boost. We just got rid of the chair pad a few weeks ago (she is 2..5).
As for the sippy-she uses a regular cup at daycare and once in a while at home. But the sippy is still going strong in our house. I don't let her carry it around the house though-it stays in the kitchen. I need to let it go but I just can't for some reason.

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
DD just turned 2 in January. We still use the highchair. I actually wanted to get rid of it around christmastime, but Kaydyn just learned how to climb into it so since I'm having DD#2 on Friday we figured we'd keep it cause it would help me out that she can climb in and out herself. Ours is in our living room because it doesn't fit in our kitchen.
She still uses sippy cups. We are trying to transition to straw cups, but she doesn't seem to like them. She makes a big mess when drinking out of regular cups so we're just sticking with the sippys for now.

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
DS is 18 months and still in his high chair. He easts better and pays better attention to his food than when we tried putting him in a booster at the table.
We will be using straw sippies for a long time, he can drink out of a cup if we hold it but he wants no part of holding it himself, and I don't care, because that means less mess for me to clean up

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
Frankie is 16 months and hates his high chair. He sits and eats better in the booster seat. I think it's time for that change. Although frankie drinks from a cup during his regular meals for practice. He makes a mess. I recently swited from a sippy to one with a straw. he does fine with that and do not see the reason to change it yet.

Re: when did you stop using sippy cups and the high chair?
We use both sippy and regular cups.
Around 18 months they went from high chair to booster seats. We just got rid of the booster seats this weekend so now they sit on the regular chair with us. Yay finally less clutter!!!!
