Or is it more for younger kids? Ages says 4 to 9 but when I searched the topic, lots of 3 year olds were getting it. I was thinking about getting it for Megan who is 5 but I want to make sure its age appropriate before spending all of that money!

I got it for my 5 year old DD for her birthday this year and she really enjoys it. That being said there are some things on it that a 3 year old can do as well. My 2.5 year old know how to use the art studio and do some things with the game Pet Pals 2. I think it's great for a 5 year old!!

Re: Leap pad good for 5 year old in Kindergarten?

I bought it for my three year old nephew for his birthday and he loves it. I think it depends on the kid. My DD, who is also 5, has no interest in it, but she has an ipod touch, so I think that's why. The response and loading time on it is really slow compared to a real touch screen phone/ipod touch/ipad, etc., so if she plays with those things a lot, she might not like it, but if she doesn't, she'll probably love it. If that makes sense?
