freaking out....update

I had a D&C on wed the 26th. Had just a little spotting -- mainly when wiped.

I was just at the grocery store -- thank god I was at the checkout and I felt blood GUSHING....

I paid got into my car and (tmi) the blood was seeping through my jeans.

I drove home as fast as I could and ran upstairs... soaked my underware and my jeans.

I showered and now have on a pad and sweats....

Is this normal? blood was like a dark brown

i barely bleed after my 1st D&C so this is all new to me.

******* Called my dr today and he said it is "normal" that my uterus is still contracting -- and that as long as the gushing stopped all is good. UGh things can never be easy can they?!

Re: freaking out....

thanks - i don't remember what she said! ugh -- still bleeding a bit but have a pad on and def. didn't soak through one (although if I had one on at the grocery store I think I would have)

Seem to be passing a few clots -- if gets worse will call the dr tomorrow.

I am wondering if I had a blood clot -- on my sonogram when we didn't see a hb he pointed out a fluid right outside the sack that he thought was blood.

Thanks for letting me vent my TMI story always makes me feel better

My D&C was 9/9 bled for abt 10 days (light) and Im still waiting for my AF! Its frustrating but since you did not bled a lot maybe this is it. Heard brown blood is old blood. Call your Dr if you have concerns and hope your ok.

Re: freaking out....

when I left the hospital after D&C I didn't have any spotting at all that day or next morning, it started the afternoon after my D& C. Since then it's been crazy, spotting for a day or 2 , then heavier bleeding -almost like my 3rd day of AF when it's still there but not as heavy (also brownish) for a day or 2, then nothing for a couple of days and this has been going on for 2 weeks now , I also had a bit of clotting, I spoke to my OB and she said it's totally normal , I also posted here and couple of girls had the same experience, so it seems like this is something that often happens after a D&C.
It's so frustrating and a bit scary at times , I never know what's "normal" and what's not any more Chat Icon

Sorry for your loss. After my d&c, I bled for about a week. My bleeding started as spotting and then went on to like a period. I would call the doctor if you feel that its a lot.Chat Icon Chat Icon
