Another dog in need of a home
I know there are so many wonderful animals out there in need of loving homes, but this one particularly touched my heart.

Lakota lives in my town... goes to the same vet we go to... but I can't imagine what his owners are doing... rather than take advantage of free training they have been offered they are going to put him down this weekend if they can't find him a new home.
We have actually volunteered to foster him if needed - I know we cannot dedicate the appropriate time and do not have the true appropriate environment for him (too many small kids in our life) but if having a place to go until he finds his forever home makes the difference between life and death, we will do what we can to help.
If you know of anyone or any rescues that particularly take in Cattle Dogs/Blue Heelers please share this link and spread the word about Lakota!
I know there are many other similar stories on this board, so I appreciate any attention you can give to this one.

Trying to post a picture of the dog. What a beautiful guy! He looks so sad in the picture.
We can't take in another dog but I'd love to help spread the word!

It looks like Lakota will have a happy ending!!
The woman rescuing him has a potential adopter in the city and if that doesn't work out a farm in Texas with two other cattle dogs that wants him! They are just trying to figure out transportation.
I may wind up fostering him for a night or two in the meantime, but tons of respect to anyone who works in animal rescue - I am only partially involved in this and it has been such a whirlwind!
I hope the others on here find new homes soon too!
