Plumbing Supplies for Bathroom Reno
I met with our contractor this morning to go over what exactly we need to buy for our bathroom renovation. I am a little overwhelmed as a first time homeowner and renovator. I think we got what is hopefully an exhaustive list of all of the things we will need to order, as well as what is needed first, what can wait, etc. My question is, if anyone has experience going to a plumbing showroom (hoping to go on Saturday), such as a Davis and Warshow or Blackman, are employees there knowledgeable and helpful in terms of exactly what needs to get ordered? I have a huge fear of parts getting forgotten about because I won't know to ask for them. If it helps, what we need to order right away is a tub and shower body, then will need tub spout, shower head, toilet, vanity and medicine cabinet. TIA!

Places like D&W and Blackman are very knowledgeable. They are suppliers for professionals so they know their stuff.
What you will need will probably depend on the sink/vanity, tub and shower you pick.

I have been to Blackman for 2 renovations and they know their stuff. You should have all of your measurements when you go. And they will ask you if you want an oval or square sink (bath), what size sink, etc.

We are first time homebuyers as well and renovated 2 bathrooms before we moved in. We went to Blackmans and they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately, they were also very expensive so we ended up getting a list of all the parts we needed and ordering them online.

Re: Plumbing Supplies for Bathroom Reno
we were in a similar situation this summer. We bought a house and immediately rennovated 2 bathrooms. We went to D&W in westbury, thought we had a very knowledgable salesman however I can not begin to tell you how many things were ordered incorrectly or forgotten and had to be rushed at the last minute or we had to find them elsewhere.
We spent a ton of money and did not receive good service. Even getting them to correct their mistakes was like pulling teeth.
I will never use them nor recco them ever.

Oy this is my fear!!! We were going to check out d&w in queens this weekend b/c their manhattan showroom is closed on weekends. What would you do in the future, instead? I am contemplating getting the full list from them of everything and (1) sending it to our contractor to make sure everything is correct and (2) maybe order the same things online if they are cheaper. Of course, this doesn't help us if things still come missing parts but I don't know how to avoid that unless we have the contractor order everything. Which we can do but will cost more....

Re: Plumbing Supplies for Bathroom Reno
Well you can go to Blackman, OR I just shopped online and bought my Toilets, pedestal sink and faucet/fixtures on Amazon,,,,the funny thing is that Blackman would quote me a 3-6 wait on these items (esp the ped sink) meanwhile I ordered from amazon it came in 3 days and was considerably cheaper. Def double chk for prices online!!!
