Urolgist Rec
Can anyone recommend a urologist for DH in Manhattan, Queens or Nassau?
LI IVF has one but Melville is too far for him to travel bc he works in Manhattan.
TIA!

Re: Urolgist Rec
Not sure what your DH has to go for, but my DH uses Dr. Natan Bar-Chama at RMA NY. We like him a lot. In fact, we have an appt with him tomorrow. He specializes in male infertility.

Re: Urolgist Rec
Thank you! Do you know if we could use the urologist at that office without using their fertility doctors?

Re: Urolgist Rec
My DH saw Dr. Mellinger in Garden City. Don't have his info anymore, but you can google him. He only saw him once for exam and then a second time for follow-up, but he said he was fine.

Yes, you can. Do you mind me asking what your husband needs a urologist for?
For us, DH has been seeing the urlogist for about 5 months but I haven't needed to see an RE yet...since we don't have full answers on DH yet. I'm hoping tomorrow gives us something.

Re: Urolgist Rec
We started seeing an RE bc I have irregular cycles and wasn't ovulating.Dh had an sa with my ob and it came back slightly low morph and low motility. He has a good count and volume though. The re repeated the sa and his morph is still a little low at 8% and his motility was 38% so he wants him to see a urologist but said his numbers are okay for iui or ivf. Good luck tomorrow. I hope you get some answers!

My DH saw Dr. Mellinger also but he was not happy with him. His bedside manner left a lot to be desired (I was with him for the consult).

Thanks! I'm super nervous for today's appt. DH has azoospermia - or a 0 count on his SA. He's been on medication for months but now he has other issues. I think DH will need surgery to see if they can find any live swimmers, but he just started a new job so I'm not sure that taking days off are possible.
I'm just so nervous...about 5 more hours til his appt...and it can't come fast enough!
Regardless, Dr. B-H has a great bedside manner and really knows what he's talking about, from what I've seen so far.

We didn't have good news for DH so we're moving on to IVF. I have an appt with an RE and then we'll schedule IVF to coordinate with DH's surgery to look for swimmers...ouch.
While I can't believe we're going to have to do IVF, I am glad we finally have a plan. It's been a long 6 months of not knowing anything. So now at least we can move on and get this started!

Just my opinion, but I'd recommed a urologist who specializes in male fertility. I've been through kidney stones and I wouldn't send my DH to that urologist for this.
