Need some bed rest food ideas!
Hey ladies!
Unfortunately, I'm still stuck on bed rest (at home though). I can only get up for a <10 minute shower and to use the bathroom.
I need some quick ideas for snacks/lunch.
This week I have been having turkey & swiss on whole wheat bread with baked lays.
For snacks I've been having some milano cookies and some carrots & ranch.
I don't even need "real" lunch ideas... even just a bunch of snacky things would work! I just need things that can be really quick to throw together (no cooking!) DH is totally overwhelmed as it is, so I don't want anything that he needs to prepare at all.
Any ideas?
Here's my nearly 24-week twin belly!

Re: Need some bed rest food ideas!
Many of my favorites have already been mentioned, but I'll try to add
-babybell cheese -kind bars or similar -cereal -almonds or nut mix One challenge I had on bedrest was that since I wasn't cooking, so I had to make sure I was getting enough protein from other sources. Hang in there!

Re: Need some bed rest food ideas!
Can DH put stuff together in a crock pot?? Easy peasy - only about 20mins of prep and he gets to eat it too.

How about other types of sandwiches? You could even leave a cooler by your bed all day with different types of things for sandwich making and then just throw together whatever you have a taste for right in bed!
I'd also add sliced tomatos and mozzarella for a yummy snack!
And you look great BTW!!!!!

Re: Need some bed rest food ideas!
Wow, you look fabulous!
-trail mix -hummus and veggies -kashi bars -pita pizzas (put a smear of tomato sauce, shredded cheese, some veggies and just quickly broil) -quesadillas (spray a bit of pam in the pan or you can even do without and warm corn tortillas, put shredded cheese, add some chicken (have someone buy some grilled breasts or a rotisserie chicken at the store. huge time saver) and have it with some salsa. I like the fresh pico de gallo from the refrigerated section. -amy's frozen organic foods are pretty good.

i was also going to suggest this. you can have a chili or stew very easily. DH can just put the ingredients in the night before and you can have lunch and he can have left overs for dinner

Re: Need some bed rest food ideas!
I have been on bed rest too for eight weeks and the food issue has stressed both of us out since I cant go to the supermarket or stand up long enough to cook.
I had DH buy a bunch of bagels and freeze them so they lasted longer.
How about tuna? Or microwaveable meals?
