OMG I just went through all my stuff, started early this year and stashed things and forgot about them. I had about 20 gifts! I am offering my mom to take 1 and returning a few, stashing a few for birthday. Honestly, I want about 10 plus stocking. And even thats alot.

We do 8 nights of gifts but some of those nights the gifts have multiple things. Ie. The dress up clothing for DD includes shoes, necklace, bracelet, and a dress.

Re: Lets talk numbers...HOw many toys are under the tree

I tried to do about 10 a kid but I think I did more like 15 or maybe even 20. For their stockings I just got crayola stuff. I wish I got them clothes instead of adding to all the junk in our houseChat Icon

I am trying to cut back this year so he gets over the idea of having so many things under the tree. Trying to keep it close to or even under 10. I did buy some pants as he needed them but don't intend to count them individually as 1 item. I am so over all the piles of toys I trip over constantly that barely get used...

I did less gifts this year and went more by budget (200 each kid, plus small stocking stuffers). Previous years we had a lot of items but they weren't alwasy what the kids wanted (but what we thought they would like). This year I tried to stick to their list. They always end up with more than they "need" after family gives them gifts too. It's overwhelming!
My kids are 6 and 8.

Holy MOLEY I am surprised....I was thinking I was spoiling buying ten each...about $550 all together. How much are you guys spending?

2 kids
7 yr old$350
4 yr old about $200 because her stuff is just cheaper

Am I being cheap? this is the most money I have ever budgeted for Christmas>>>EVER

I posted this thinking I had too many, but I guess not.

Thanks

Well so far I have wrapped 8 nights of Chanukah presents for two kids, and 8 gifts each from Santa. I probably have atleast 30 more things to wrap.Chat Icon but in fairness, many things were purchased at Targets summer sale for 75% off so they were very reasonable- most under $10.

Re: Lets talk numbers...HOw many toys are under the tree

we have about 20, which is a bit up rom previous years of about 15 or so, but DD did not pick anything big or expensive this year. There are also a couple of clothing items with that oo. She does not like what "Mom" buys in clothes, but she likes and wears what Santa brings Chat Icon

Re: Lets talk numbers...HOw many toys are under the tree

I just checked and I think we spent about $650 for three kids. Could be more, but if so probably only $50 more.

ETA they are 5, 4, and 1.5

ETADD AGAIN b.c DH just spent $325 on bikes for the two older ones.

So I guess we're spending about 1k

OMG I have maybe 6 things each (ages 5 1/2 and 2 1/2). Maybe 7 or so if you count the crayons/markers and candy I'm sticking in the stocking. Spending maybe $200 or less on each kid.

Re: Lets talk numbers...HOw many toys are under the tree

its really not how many gifts are given... at least for me it isnt.

i wrapped for DS 4 & DD 2 about 25 gifts each. but the total for about the 50 gifts did not exceed $200.

the gifts i havent wrapped yet are power wheels atv for DS & babrie jeep for DD and we still havent wrapped my DSs iPad, which by itself is $500.

Each boy has 11 gifts( including anywhere chairs) plus fresh beat band tickets add up to just over 900 bucks. How are there some of you like 20 gifts for 200 bucksChat Icon

We don't give clothes as gifts for christmas

Re: Lets talk numbers...HOw many toys are under the tree

It's actually easy to get 20 gifts for $200 if you catch the 75% off sale at Target. Really it's the equivalent of having spent $800. For example, I got my son a remote control dinosaur for $25 from around. Lego game for $2.50 from $10. Playdoh sets for $3.75 from $15. I just store them in the basement for a few months. And when there's specific things they want, I will pay full price or hope to get lucky with a sale.

I went to target sale too lol was the dinosaur originally like 100.00? I think I have the same one as you for 25!

Most of the toys were in the 20-25 range for us
