DS was in music class since he was 8 months old. Once he was walking, we also added a gym class.

We have been doing Music Together since 5.5 months. DS is 16.5 months old now. We did a trial 4 week class at Gymboree (got a Groupon) and we are sticking to MT. I find that DS gets a ton out of music class. I highly recommend it.

DS has been in Music Together since he was 9mo and Gymboree since 11mo. He also goes to Circle Time at our local library a few times a month.

Re: what type of classes did you sign up for with your one year old?

I just posted about MT! We LOVE LOVE LOVE it! We also tried TLG, but it was pricey and not quite what DS was into. I did our local library program, but although free, it was a 25 min class....it takes me longer to get out of the house for the class then for the class itself. I think I will wait until DS is a little older to do that again. (He is 18 MO)

Where do you live? My daughter's cheer gym offers a mommy and me tumbling class for children, and I think it's $45 a month. I believe it's 12 -24 months in one class, 2-4 for the other.

I have done Music Together with all 3 of my kids...it's good, especially when they are younger and you are limited with what you can do.
I also do a mommy&me by me (in massapequa) that starts at 12 months. Have you looked at places like My Gym/Gymboree/Little Gym? They usually start young too and have wknd classes..

My name is Adam Glassman. My wife and I own a children's gym called DREAMNASTICS in Great Neck. I would like to extend an invitation to any of your members to have a free trial class as well as offering a discount if they register for our program. Our website is www.dreamnastics.com where you can learn more information about our program. Our program is for children ages 4 months - 4 years of age with age specific, intimate classes. I would welcome the opportunity to sponsor one of your meetings and meet with you in person to discuss this further. Please feel free to call me at (516) 829-8099 or email at your earliest convenience. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Re: what type of classes did you sign up for with your one year old?

over the summer (right when DD turned 1 year ) we did music together.

WE now how DD signed up in a gymnastics class and she loves it. Our gymnastics class is walking until 3 years (it is HOt Shot west gymnastics in Mineola) and they are amazing. They were recommended by another poster on this boards and I can not praise them enough - DD started the class when she was 15 months.

I also know little gym gymnastics you did not have to be 18 months.

Hope that helped.
