our family is complete, now! PICTURES ADDED
just before easter, we lost our beloved Odie. he was the craziest, dumbest, neediest dog you ever met. he was about 25lbs and he swore he was a lap dog. i still miss him so much.
again, thank you all for the love and support you gave during that time. i had never felt such heartache in my life.
as we all know, we can never "replace" a pet with another... but sometimes, our homes become "vacant" so we can care for another pet... one that might not be loved if your home were not vacant and your heart open.
today, our little family welcomed its most recent member... this after another "vacancy" was filled in the summer.
we've become a rescue, of sorts 
this past summer we took in my uncle's chihuahua. my uncle has become too sick to care for the dog, and since we had a dog-less house, we took him in. it took him a while to get comfortable with us, but he is sure a part of the family, now.
this morning, i woke up to barking... well, it looks like our family has grown. last night, SO was visiting a friend. when he went out to the car, he saw a group of young kids "fighting." when he went to check it out, he saw that they were beating up a dog. he got in the middle of them, cursed them out and helped the dog. now, we have a new dog. SO waiting around to see if there was an owner... no luck. so he brought home the dog. it's a girl!!!!! finally, another girl! i'm so sick of all the testosterone!
i named her LARRY!
our family is complete!!

 Agreed! That's a great thing he did for that dog. I'd like to smack those kids (and their parents) around though.

What a gorgeous family....
(Dumb kids... with something like this... I'd envoke an "eye for an eye" rule.. beat up on an animal...and I beat up on the person doing it..)

Oh My Goodness Larry is BEAUTIFUL and it looks like she is so thankful to be in the arms of someone who will love her forever! I know that feeling. I feel like when you rescue an animal, they are forever grateful! I get that feeling from our own little girl, Charlie

 What a great DH you have! I can't believe those kids were hurting her....pieces of sh!t. Glad she found a loving home with you.
