Bedding Suggestions
DS turned 2 on 11/25. I am trying to settle on a theme for his room because he is graduating to a big boy bed this weekend (full size bed). Although he is a big Sesame Street fan, I ordered the Thomas The Tank Engine set because it was on sale at the time ( 2 days ago). I just got a price adjustment on Sesame Street for the same price( just went on sale today). Anyway, both are now the same price. Right now he is a bigger fan of Sesame Street than Thomas.
Which set do you like better:(I think the Sesame is a little too busy)

if I do a solid color comforter it would show every stain. I hear you on their taste changing, I was not brought up on themes either but neutral sets started at $249.00 just for the comforter and pillow shams. Once I settle on a set I will only be paying for 3 sets of full size sheets, a comforter with matching pillow shams ($178.00) sale ends tomorrow at Macy's. Should I actually get three sets of sheets or two? I know once he starts potty training I def. need more than one!

Re: Bedding Suggestions
What about something like this set?http://www.overstock.com/Bedding-Bath/Tommy-Hilfiger-All-American-Classic-Navy-3-piece-Comforter-Set/6143921/product.html?rcmndsrc=2#custreviews You can get fun sheet sets from Target, but this would grow with him. FWIW, I got DS his quilt from the Land of Nod - Department of Motor vehicles. I got stripe, star and blue sheets for him. I got the bedding set when he was two and I hope that it will last for a few more years.

I am a fan of a neutural comforter and character sheet sets. DS is 9 and we have been through sprots teddys, speed racer, and spiderman. Now Im getting "characters are not for 8 year olds". His basic navy comforter is holding up well.

Re: Bedding Suggestions
Thing is I am only paying $76.00 for the comforter and shams and $34.00 for the sheets. Your set is almost double the price and I will expect a lot more mileage out of it ... I doubt that stuff like sheets and a comforter where they jump up and down will last that long ... it is nice ... maybe when he turns 6.

Re: Bedding Suggestions
Please don't take it the wrong way but my question was not "do I go with these or neutral bedding?" I was asking which pattern seems more aesthetically pleasing to the eye?

Re: Bedding Suggestions
I like the SS one better. I would buy the sheets that match the set. (or they come with it, IDK) Then I would buy cheap solid color sheets, a red set, and blue.... Whatever you think will match the set.

Ditto. How long will a child be into SS and Thomas for? Maybe 5 years old max? I wouldn't worry about it holding up, because your child will probably lose interest in it before it wears out.

Re: Bedding Suggestions
How much cheaper could you get for something that will stand up to several washes? These are only $34.00 for a full size set.

Re: Bedding Suggestions
I buy the jersey sheets from Target. They are $15-$20 per set. They wash fine and I don't feel bad if I have to throw them away. I have 3-4 extra sets.
Like everyone else said, the kids get over theme bedding quickly. We have already been through Sesame Street. Now we change between dinosaurs and spiderman.

Re: Bedding Suggestions
Thomas. He will grow with it a little longer.
The sesame street one looks a lot too "babyish" for a 2 year old. It's more of an infant - 12 month bedding.

Re: Bedding Suggestions
If I had to pick one of the two I would get the thomas, but frankly, I would get a generic train or car set. I know Target has a cute set by Circo for about the same price as the ones available at Macy's. I only knew one person IRL who had that Thomas set and it did not hold up to repeated washing. I know for my own son, while potty training I washed his quilt a couple of times. I too got a theme style set. I did a transportation theme. It is well made and I can see it lasting a few more years. DS is 4. Eventually I want to get him a full size bed so I was ok getting a twin size child set.
