Pregnant after a chemical
I am posting this under a fake name because DH and I are keeping this all private. I have an 18 month old DS and had no complications with getting pregnant with him. We decided in November to try for #2. We got pregnant the first month but it ended in a chemical pregnancy at 5 weeks. I was devastated. The doctor gave us permission to try again right away and a few days ago I got another BFP. I have such mixed emotions. I am terrified that I will lose this one too. My doctor reassured me at the time that the chemical is very common and happens to so many women and has NO effect on any future pregnancies, but I can't shake this fear I am going to call the doctor tomorrow to schedule an appointment. I am hoping she will see me earlier than the usual 8 weeks. I guess I am looking for words of encouragement from any of you who have had chemicals followed by a successful pregnancy right away. TIA!!

Re: Pregnant after a chemical
I completely understand how you feel, I know how nerve wracking and scary it can be to get a BFP after a chemical.
I had my first chemical in May. I got pregnant again in August. I thought for sure it couldn't happen again. Unfortunately, it did. The good news is though that I got pregnant the very next cycle after that, and so far, this one is sticking (I'm 20 weeks now).
I truly hope that this is it for you. Try to hang in there and relax. Ask your doctor to monitor your beta HCG levels now to make sure they are rising appropriately.

Re: Pregnant after a chemical
It is very scary but things do get easier. I had a MC in May (at 7wks) got pregnant 2mths later and now Im in my 6mth with a healthy baby boy. The beginning is terrifying. But you reach a point where you do relax a little. Wishing you all the best.
